Being a nurse, a watch is one of the most important accessory you own. You have to follow your schedule, visit patients at allotted times and be there when it’s time for particular duties. A nurse’s watch has to be practical, durable and easy to maintain. However, this does not mean that you have to make a sacrifice on style or features. There are many high-quality watches in the market today that are both pragmatic in their working and filled with features. However, how do you select a great watch for a nurse? Companies do not market their watches specifically for nurses, so you do not know which watch makes up a good choice or which features to have in your watch?
Don’t start wondering as I have got you covered. In this review, I am going to go through some of the most popular watches for nurses. I have personally researched the products I am mentioning and have taken feedback from real nurses who are using these products. This has helped me in learning about and focusing on the product from a nurse’s angle, which eventually assisted me in creating an unbiased review.
Let us now have a look at the products I have chosen.

Best Overall Watch for Nurses
Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch Review
Fitbit is a company that has been around for a while, a company that’s made a name for itself by offering a high standard in quality with the products it manufactures. Fitbit is mostly known for its activity trackers and wireless-enabled wearable technology that offers the user metric data regarding the overall fitness and health of the user.
The activity trackers can be paired with a smartphone via a Bluetooth connection for the user’s convenience, compatible with Android, iOS and Windows operating systems. For the purpose of this review I will be focusing on such a product, namely the Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch, the premium option on our list, and why it is such a great choice for people that need to have constant access to critical data regarding someone’s health, namely nurses, while keeping the tracker clean and functioning in messy environments.
The features of Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch:
1) Heart Rate monitor
2) Multisport/step tracking
3) Up to 5 days of battery life
4) Faceplates with seconds hand available
The Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch is a beautifully-designed tracker that offers the user real-time accurate information on his/her heart rate, especially useful for nurses that are working with people that are undergoing physical recovery programs and need to have their progress and vitals carefully monitored in order to ensure their well-being. The Fitbit Blaze is also designed with a gorilla glass screen that is very tough and easy to clean in case of a mess or emergency. Moreover, Fitbit gives a one-year warranty for its watches to be free from any manufacturing faults or workmanship defects.
While the Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch is a great overall choice, as previously stated, the watch isn’t meant to be used in underwater environments, which can be problematic when working with people that have aquatic activities included in their recovery plan.
Pros
- Faceplates with seconds hand available
- Known for having a very accurate heart rate monitor
- Nice gorilla glass screen that doesn’t get scratched
- So many great features that will make your life easier
Cons
- Not for pool use, but you can wipe/clean it
Best Value Watch for Nurses
Pebble Time Smartwatch Review
The Pebble Technology Corporation was a company that was focused mainly on the manufacturing of smart watches. The company raised $10 million on kickstarter for the development of smartwatches and fitness tracking products, attracting investments due to the quality present in their prototypes. The company has since shut down, but not because of the quality of its products.
The Pebble Technology Corporation has since been purchased by Fitbit, company that I have previously covered. Fitbit has kept the line of Pebble watches going, and we will further discuss one of their best products. The Pebble Time Smartwatch has made my list because of the great value it offers for a relatively cheap price, along with a lot of features that will help you keep track of the people you’re caring for and their well-being.
What the Pebble Time Smartwatch has to offer:
1) Water resistant up to 30 meters (can use in the pool)
2) Fitness step tracker and sleep tracker
3) Week long battery
4) Able to set alarms and reminders
5) Seconds Hand Available on Custom watch faces
While the Pebble Time Smartwatch doesn’t have all of the great features of our previously mentioned product, it offers great value for its price and the fact that it’s water resistant can even make it a better choice. The fitness step and sleep tracking functions will help you keep track of the progression that your patients register in their recovery plan while alarms and reminders will make sure that you get to all of your appointments on time.
The Pebble Time Smartwatch doesn’t feature a heart rate monitor, which can be a dealbreaker for some, but that’s up to you to decide. Customers have also often reported that claiming warranty is difficult, especially due to the acquisition of Pebble by Fitbit.
Pros
- Very Long battery for a smart watch
- Seconds hand is available with custom watch faces
- Completely water resistant. You can wear it in the pool and shower. Don’t take it off unless it needs charged
Cons
- No heart rate monitor
- Warranty issues
#3 Best Overall Watch for Nurses
Timex Weekender Watch Review
The Timex Group USA, Inc. company has over 150 years of experience in manufacturing watches. Since 1854, the American watch manufacturers have been constantly offering great products for this market. After going through a rebranding in 2008, Timex now offers an even higher standard with its products under the new leadership.
A more budget-friendly option, the Timex Weekender Watch still performs where it’s meant to. While this product isn’t a smartwatch, it’s not intended to be used as one and I think it can be useful in plenty of cases as a helpful tool for nurses.
The Timex Weekender Watch features:
1) Indiglo Light-Up Watch Dial
2) Water resistant to 30m (100 ft)
3) 24-Hour Military Time
The Timex Weekender Watch is a beautifully-crafted instrument, with a polished silver-tone 31mm case and a round white dial, it’s bound to impress the eye. The Weekender also has a very readable design, because of its Light-Up Watch Dial, making it very useful in low light environments. It also has a comfortable nylon slip-thru strap so that you can use it for long periods of time without causing any discomfort. It’s also very easy to clean and has a lot of wrist strap options so that you feel comfortable and, why not, fashionable.
This Timex watch comes up with a one-year warranty for any manufacturing fault, plus a 30 days no questions asked return policy.
After mentioning all of its features, it’s important to emphasize that this isn’t a smartwatch, so it doesn’t offer any kind of tracking options, except for the ticking that can be used to measure someone’s pulse.
Pros
- TONS of different wrist strap options
- Can be easily washed
- Easy to read face during the day or night
Cons
- Not a smart watch
#4 Best Overall Watch for Nurses
Prestige Medical Nurse White Scrub Watch Review
Prestige Brands Holdings, Inc. is a company that mainly focuses on offering health care and house cleaning products, with over 15 years of experience on the market and is the mother company to many other brands such as BC Powder, Ecotrin, Chloraseptic and more.
The Prestige Medical Nurse White Scrub Watch is a watch specifically designed for nurses, as the name clearly states, designed by specialists from the health industry. Intended for medical use and with a very appealing price, it was clear to me that the White Scrub Watch should be featured on this roundup.
Prestige Medical Nurse White Scrub Watch features:
1) Water resistant
2) Resin band that does not get soiled in water
3) 24-hour military time
4) Glow in the dark
Made specifically for being used by nurses, the designers made sure to fit the watch with a resin case and band so that it doesn’t suffer damage. The watch is also water resistant, so that cleaning and sanitizing your hands won’t damage the mechanism of the watch and affect its performance, and the fact that it’s water resistant also make it easy to clean. The dial is also easy to read in low-light environments due to its glow-in-the-dark design, something important to find in a such a tool, a tool that must be reliable during all times.
All Prestige watches are checked for any defects and errors before being shipped. The company provides a one year warranty for repairs and services of its watches.
While the watch has features that make it a good pick for your work environment, it can also have quite a loud ticking sound, which can be annoying for everyday use.
Pros
- Made specifically for nurses
- Water resistant so it is easy to clean
Cons
- Ticking may be somewhat loud

Casio Women's LRW-200H-2BVCF Stainless Steel Watch Review
Casio is a Japanese company that focuses on multinational consumer electronics and commercial electronics with headquarters in Tokyo. Casio has brought many innovations to the electronics industry and it has used the experience it gained in the 20th century to the watches and consumer products that it currently produces.
The Casio Women's LRW-200H-2BVCF Stainless Steel Watch isn’t the best product on my list, although it is our budget option - the cheapest product that can still properly function in the harsh conditions that can be found in clinics and hospitals.
Casio Women's LRW-200H-2BVCF Stainless Steel Watch features:
1) Water resistant to 100m (about 300 feet)
2) 24-Hour Military Time
3) Day of the month counter
4) Glow in the dark
This Stainless-Steel Watch still offers performance for a very low, friendly price. Its design is basic, yet charming, with a colorful dial (numbers represented with different colors) and molded resin-band that keeps the watch clean and neat after being put through tougher conditions. It’s also water resistant up to 100 m (about 300 feet), being ideal for using in a pool when helping patients go through their recovery physical training. While it’s not essential, this watch also comes in a lot of different color combination, customizable for your personal preferences, which is always a plus.
Casio offers a one-year warranty for any manufacturing faults in this watch, from the date of purchase.
The Casio Women’s Stainless-Steel Watch is great, but it has its drawbacks. The fact that it’s so cheap means that the quality of materials used in its design is lower, which makes the watch’s screen more likely to get damaged from scratches and impacts. It’s also hard to read in low-light situations because it’s lacking any glow-in-the-dark elements.
Pros
- Many Different color combinations
- Easy to clean
- Great, low price
- Water resistant to 100m
Cons
- Difficult to read in low light situations
- Sometimes scratches easily
